Product use

It is used as the intermediate of sulfadimoxine and barbital, as well as the intermediate of perfume and dye. It is mainly used for the preparation of fruit flavors such as pears, apples, grapes and cherries.

Diethyl malonate is an important intermediate for the preparation of 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine. It can be used to prepare sulfonylurea herbicides, such as bensulfuron methyl, pyrazosulfuron methyl, Nicosulfuron methyl, etc.
